A Clarification
Of course I should also say that while I am completely surprised at the election, I am confident that this was the will of God and that He will use this for the good of my salvation and for His glory.
I didn't mean to make it sound like a negative thing at all!

Wow...you must be one of the popular kids! ;P
Seriously...I think it speaks well of your district that they would entrust this position to you.
I once got a promotion that I didn't seek. My boss left the company and I had every intention of following him to the next place. But then my company offered me his job and badgered me for weeks until I finally caved and thought..."Silly people, don't they know I'll be gone in a matter of months!" I honestly thought I didn't have what it took to do the job but I trusted that God's will be done. You know what...that job was the best job I ever had. I took to it like a duck to water and continue to do similar work to this day.
And you are right...God can use whatever happens to our benefit. May He guide you as you assume this new responsibility.
Yep. I have such a pious life. Sarcasm off.
When is your convention?
Thanks for your kind words, Dixie. I think I just broke the Peter Principle, though :)
Ours is May 8-9. As Steve wrote, I'm up for East region VP, which is the City and the near 'burbs.
No, Chris doesn't hate God for thrusting him into this office. . . he just hates those who elected him and plans to use the authority we have given him to wreck havoc and ruin upon him. . . and excepting the wrack and ruin executed upon those outside our circuit or intended for me myself, I will be his willing cohort and minion!!!
At least I think that's what the handbook says I'm supposed to be doing - I haven't really looked at it in a while. On the checklist to do tomorrow.
