Hehe.. I got that one, too. I half expected the following in the body of the body of the email: "New and improved! Gospel enriched! Now with 33% more relevancy than those other generic Advent Devotions!"
Thankfully, my guess was wrong. =P
Heh heh heh! I wish I would have thought of that.
Sometimes I wonder who they are trying to convince when a person is pushing hard to make sure that the Gospel is more "relevant" or that the Christian life is given more "purpose". The same is true for those who push for the church to be made more cutting edge and modern.
How can eternal salvation possibly be more relevant than it already (and always) is? Who has been granted more purpose than the children of Christ? What can be more cutting edge than being a member of the eternal church of the living God?
